BOTOX & XEOMIN
Here's some food for thought...

Every year that goes by without
botox, your wrinkles WILL get
worse and worse.

But did you know... that for every
year that you DO botox, your
wrinkles actually can begin  to go
away a little bit, year by year?
...simply by not allowing the muscles
to overwork the skin!

So come in for a consultation...
and let us show you what can do
for you.
 I'll explain and document
the injection process with photos and
notes so that you'll understand the
plan and what is being done.
Over the past couple of years, I have worked closely with Dr. Zavala, assisting her with many clients. As I gained
more and more interest, Dr. Z began sending me to receive more extensive training through various medical
courses in New York, Las Vegas, Dallas and here at home, In addition, I have continued to work closely under
her, watching her every move!  She, especially, has taught me to pay very close attention to the anatomy of
YOUR muscular structure.  This means you won't be rushed through an appointment and just slammed with
injections in a cookie cutter fashion. YOUR injecion sites are uniquely designed for your face.

When you first sit down for your Botox session, Your muscular anatomy is observed, then mapped out with a
brow pencil and each injection site is marked about a half-millimeter away from where the botox is to be injected.
Documentation with Photos and Notes will help to ensure total satisfaction and make the next appointment a
breeze!  It also serves to know what needs to be tweeked the next time around, if necessary.
Some places
offer speedy appointments... while I won't promise that, I can assure you that I will give you the best
care I can possibly give. Then, within just a few days, you'll enjoy a more relaxed, rejuvenated
younger looking face!

BOTOX IS ESPECIALLY EFFECTIVE FOR THE UPPER REGIONS OF THE FACE, SUCH AS:
◦Crows Feet
◦Forehead Lines
◦Glabellar Lines
◦Eyebrow Lifting

WHILE IT CAN ALSO BE USEFUL IN REDESIGNING THE LOWER REGIONS OF YOUR FACE, you should
know - that the effects are not as long lasting.
◦Lower Face Reshaping
◦Softening Marionette Lines or a Dimpled Chin
◦Reducing the Appearance of a Gummy Smile

In my opinion, one of the best purposes of using Botox on the lower part of the face is to help break
bad habits!!
Such as drinking through a straw... and moving certain muscles that create dimpled chins, etc...
A couple of rounds of Botox, along with a little determination and you can drastically improve lines around the
mouth, and prevent future wrinkling of that tissue.

DID YOU KNOW...  That Botox (or Xeomin) are also equally effective, in helping to temporarily solve problems
with  Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
It is most effective in axillary (armpit area) sweating, that can last between two to six months. It is also approved
by the FDA for that purpose. On the other hand (no pun intended...) Botox has not been approved for cases of
palmar (hands) and plantar (feet) hyperhidrosis. Pain can be a problem when injected into the palms or the
plantar surfaces (hands and feet). Some sort of local or regional anesthesia may be required.

Effectiveness of Botox with Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating):
It blocks the transmitters which are secreted by nerve endings for the production of sweat.
With regard to effectiveness of Botox for hyperhidrosis it should be remembered that Botox has a limited and
temporary effect. Repeated injections will increase the bodies resistance to the material. It is more effective in
cases of armpit sweating (axillary) and less in cases of palmar and plantar hyperhidrosis. Another drawback may
be the cost which is typically several hundred dollars for each treatment. In order to offset the price patients can
try and ask for insurance coverage.

Summary:
If money and pain are not of an issue then Botox can be tried to treat focal hyperhidrosis of the armpit. With
regard to palmar (hand) and or plantar (feet) hyperhidrosis at present there is no good indication to the usage
of Botox.

Results typically last 3-5 months, and should be refreshed no more than every 4 months. Doing so
sooner can cause your body to start to build antibodies that can cause the botox to no longer be
effective.

Setting appropriate expectations - Occasionally, some people feel that their first BOTOX® treatment
was more helpful than subsequent injections.
This feeling may occur because your condition was perhaps
quite severe when you had your first injection. Subsequent injections are usually given before your condition
becomes that severe again. Therefore, the relief you experienced with subsequent injections may not have
been as dramatic as your first experience... That is why we always take photos to chart your progress

OTHER BOTOX FAQ’s

What is Botox?
Botox is a brand name for the purified form of a plant bacterium called botulinum toxin A.  Although Botox is the
most well known brand, there are other brands of botulinum toxin products which are equally as effective, such
as the new product called Xeomin. We have both products in stock.

How does Botox work?
When we laugh or frown our brain sends a signal to our muscles to make expressions, which inevitably cause
lines to appear on our faces over time. Botox is used to smooth out the expression lines that are caused by
those muscles. The way Botox works is that it blocks the signals from the nerve to the facial muscles to stop
them contracting, leaving the skin looking smooth.

What is the injection process for Botox?
At your consultation, your facial muscles are carefully examined, so that to determine where to administer the
injections. For example, say you have a frown line between your brows that you wish would go away... I would
want to treat the specific muscle(s) responsible for creating it!  So several tiny injections of Botox is strategically
injected into the muscles surrounding the brow area. Different measures may be used depending on the degree
of relaxation requested.

Is it painful?
Normally, anesthesia is not required. However, if you are feeling apprehensive, numbing cream and Ice can be
applied to the area before and after your treatment. A small fee of $20 is required due to the extra time required.

When can I resume normal activities?
Botox generally requires no downtime so there is no disruption to your lifestyle.  Small welts may be apparent
immediately following your treatment, but the swelling should subside within a few hours.  However, there are a
few things to NOT DO... Do not rub the treated areas and plan to stay upright for at least six hours following the
procedure to prevent the injected serum from shifting under the skin.

How long until I see results?
Typically it will take about 10 days before you start to see results, though this may vary.  Some people claim to
start to see results almost immediately. Everyone is different.

How long do the results last?
Results can last from 3-5 months and sometimes longer depending on the individual. The longer botox is used,
the more accumative are the effects!

Will Botox work for me?
Clinical trials have shown that nearly 90% of men and women surveyed rated the improvement in the
appearance of frown lines between their brows as moderate to better within  5-7 day after the treatment
